Motorised power antenna install

Postby CJ » Sat Mar 05, 2005 3:57 pm

I've gone and got myself an OE motorised antenna with a view to fitting it soon, I've a bit of a dilema with regard to the electrical considerations however. There are six wires going to the unit, I've isolated the permanent live (R/B) and ground (B), theres also another wire (P) that initiates the motor and raises the antenna when connected to switched live, when the latter is disconneted, the permanent live takes over and lowers the antenna. At this stage, I can either connect P to a switch in the dash or hook it up to a relay that engages when either the central locking or ignition is activated. I'd also like to be able to control the height of the antenna so I would need some sort of variable switch to achieve this. I should mention that the other two wires going to the unit are marked for connection to the ignition and central locking in the electrical wiring diagram but nothing happens if I pass a current down them.

Any electrically minded folk care to take a look at the wiring schematic and advise further?

Ciaran.

Just realised I forgot to send you the dash switch for the antenna. 5 connection lugs on the back of this. I will also send the connector for the back of it and about 12" of the witing
