Camber adjustment on front?

Postby kevinod » Tue Apr 08, 2008 10:50 pm

Guys,

as I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, one of my camber adjusting bolts sheared. I got a new one and put it on, and was getting it adjusted by a guy with a computer alignment system.

According to the computer the camber on the right front is out a few degrees. He tried adjusting something but said it was seized.

Another guy I used before told me there was no camber adjustment on the front, so I'm slow to give the car back to this guy for a day to get it sorted, he's talking about heating it and cooling again to unseize it.

Is there camber adjustment or not?

Kev.

As soon as I clicked submit it dawned on me to check it on the workshop manual. Part 2, page 37 (33A-3)
NOTE
1. Camber and caster are preset at the factory and cannot be adjusted.

You'll need them alright, lowering along with the KYB shocks change the geometry of the car, and to get the wheel back on the right camber the bolts should give you enough adjustment.

Think I'll go back to the last guy I got my alignment done by (Bantry tyres), only problem is its a long spin down.

There is no adjustment on the front except for TOE.
Rear has 2 adjustments.

It is amazing the amount of guys that have tracking equipment and do not fully know how to use it (not saying this guy is the same)
I have seen guys in tyre centres track all cars the same, eventhough they have a chart on the wall giving the specification for different vehicles.

I know the camber cannot be changed as standard but isn't that the whole point of camber adjustment bolts?

Am I stupid or just missing something???

Correct. But I'm sure the posters above are all well aware of this.
Crossed wires IMO.
