Now I just have to wire the lights in :D

it's not 100% perfect colour match, but it's not easy to match 15yr old paint

I'm happy with it :D

The bumper looks great and the fogs look better than I thought, but the paint is off. I've seen silver matches off by less and that's a hard one to match. You definitely need skirts to go onto that baby. It's better looking than pre facelift, but deep down you know it should be much better. I'm enjoying the project though. Did you ask about the legality and if there was extra cost with block removal? Curious

Yea, it is a bit off colour, but it doesn't bother me all to much, as the old bumper was even worse.
I'm hoping I will be able to work full time over the Christmas break, so I may be able to afford another body part :D
I asked about removing the block, but the people I took it too don't really like working with fibreglass all to much, and it would have cost too much.
As it stands, that bumper has cost me about $1500 NZD, so I decided that I had spent enough as it is

That looks much younger now with the facelift(the bear on your window would approve I am sure), the lights look great. If you lower the car a bit you will notice a big diffrence in handeling.

Haha, thanks!
I've considered lowering the car, and it would look nicer.. But I don't want the car to become impractical...

Looking at where ya live I wouldn't bother either as the roads wouldn't be smooth
I'd put some DC skirts on it to even up the rest of the car as the bumper is low lower than the rest.
Look at some of my pics and you'll see it makes all the difference.

DC Skirts are what i'm looking at, as they should match the bumper nicely.
Although I do want them completely blended in :D

So, my rear suspension was collapsing, so I decided it was time to replace them, and at the same time get some new springs.
All I could get locally were Lows, so I went with them. It drops it 30mm, and it looks fantastic!

So, some pics.

The new shocks for the rear, $70 each:

New Srings, $440:

The rear before lowering, on the collapsed side...

Rear after lowering:

Front after lowering;

The gap missing here is where the wheel was scraping earlier, and I think it is still slightly scraping now since removing that too...
The cleaner part is where it was scraping after lowering...

A couple of random pics...

On another note, what's this?? the little round thingy on top of the Intake manifold...

Looking well.

Regarding the round thingy: Are you talking about the idle control screw?

Not sure. My 97 GPX has it. Just a guess here, but maybe it was added to the casting process when the face-lift model came out? Would only really matter for tip tronic though, as the earlier ones were 4 speed.

Hmm... I'm a manual pre-facelift, but I've also heard before that it may have been added to facelift.... I wonder if my engine isn't original...

Hmm.. So it seems to be very random as to which has it...
I'm not a fan of it myself, looks ugly.... maybe if I can find another manifold locally I may replace it...

It doesn't seem to be so prominent on mine. Maybe get your plenum painted?

Doesn't look to bad there, love the colour scheme!

Last week I picked up a free 6A12 Mivec :) and it's intake is the normal one :D

Image

Image

Image

91,000Kms and was working when it came out :)

Also came with a new water pump, and a full gasket set :D

On a down note, My car remote started in gear accidentaly, and rear ended a Police car....

Image

Image

All polished and cleaned up, and it doesn't look too bad... I only have 3rd party insurance, so I will have to pay the 1K excess to repair the other car, and then try and save the 1K to fix mine.... ;(

From a distance, it doesn't look too bad.

This following pic is unedited, apart from removing the orange from the indicators. The rest is straight out of the camera :)
I love light painting...
