I'm just highlighting the fact that it would be illegal - just in case any of you guys decide to take the law into your own hands - thats all! I'd never do something like that cause I really like being screwed by the government - it gives me a warm cosy feeling inside that they can tax my salary (PAYE & PRSI) - then tax my already highly taxed and hard earned money again when I go to buy a car by charging me VAT AND VRT and then tax me again for petrol and then after all that still have the balls to ask for 2K road tax. And then provide me with the crapiest roads in Europe that this tax should be paying for.

Is it any wonder (Bertie) that we need to get the odd digout from our "friends"?

That would imply that road tax collected actually was used to pay for roads and their upkeep...

I get the impression you're at the same stage of anger as I am... a great country made crap by our crap politicians!!

A legal but long winded version of your idea would be to just swop the parts from the new car to the older car ;)
