How to remove the front bumper

took one of my lights out today so took out the bumper and i said i'll stick a how to do it thread in here

first there are 2 screws on the top of the bumper ( all the bolts are marked with red circles) . you need the 10 mm spanner



now go at the wheels
you need to remove the wheel arch to expose the bolt that holds the bumper and the wing ( 2 screws on the plastic arch )
pic it's with colm's car ( my wheel arch it's off so just had to cut the cable ties )



next bit it's a bit tricky
you need to jack up the car to make things easy
you will have easy acces now on the 4 bolts remaining (2 on each side )
those ones hold the bumper on the chassis ( 12 mm + ratchet )



right , now the bumper should slide out easy enough
dont forget to unplug the cables for the side/signal lights for the bumper to come fully out .

also when you put it back watch the yellow guides to fit in perfectly
those ones give the perfect line between the wing and the bumper

It does.

Just make sure that you dont rip apart your connection wires from fogs/signal lights

hey i got to the bit were u remove the bolts from under that car but then i got stuck i did find some bolts but they were hight up and one of them i could not for the life of me see at all as there were pats in the way can u xplain or put a pic showing were they are as the pic u have makes me think im lookin in the wrong place

The bolts underneath are easily accessible when under the car. You're looking for two bar like structures, which go to the front of your car. A few inches in, you will see a hole and then a few inches more, you see another. Repeat on opposite side. They are a little high up, so use ratchet extension, but you get it.

is it hard to align the bumper properly?
The FTO I just bought has it's front bumper off alignment, looks average :/

Shouldn't be hard at all. But if you cant get it aligned, it's a sure sign of previous damage, which would be common place on an old car.

The mounting brackets may be worn at they are easily worn if the bumper got a tip as Goz said or just simply being removed
