White 98 FTO in Autotrader

Postby GingsFTO » Fri Jun 09, 2006 12:42 am

Hi Folks,
I was wondering if anyone on this site is selling the white 98 FTO in autotrader this week :?: I remember seeing this car at auction in japan back in November last year. It looked the part back then, but I missed out on the purchase because I was worried the roll cage might fail the NCT.
Also, Is this the first time the car is for sale in Ireland :?: Would it take 7months to ship a car from Japan :?: Its a lovely motor, but I think it a little above my budget now that its in Ireland.
   Den

Hi,

actually shipping takes about 5 weeks, but as I found with mine it could end up sitting in Japan for a few months waiting for a slot on a boat (depending on the shower of wasters you're dealing with  ). I bought mine in February, but it wasn't until July before it got on a boat, and even then only after a few demands for a refund.

had it that low mileage leaving japan i wonder??????
a few questions you need to ask. it looks like a GPvR, which have highly prized blue seats as standard, take a close look  , these are aftermarket seats............. why was there a need to change??

id love to have a good look at this, and can anyone tell me what the hell are adjustable COYLES, lol

I have a larger Pic of the car from back in november. I just dont know how to post it here! if anyone is intrested I can mail it to ye.

With regards the mileage, I think it was only 20K back then and a grade 4, was really close to buying her back then.

Rear spoiler looks more like a "creative" - theres no real clues as to whether its a GX or GPX or GPvR from those photos. I would be concerned re mileage though - cars with that much work done would generally have been driven more. Certainly worth looking at though even if the price is quite steep - some nice extras on there.

the reason i described it as a GPX is due to the fact i was confusing myself with the other white one in sean byrne motors :smt015.......... need to wake the ould brain up,lol.
but still reckon its a veilside rear spoiler, looks same as one on silver fto on main page here

Def not veilside - either creative or coresport

Veilside

The veilside has a rounded rear vertical support as opposed to either core or creative.
