what tada.. the idea is to bring cold air inside the engine...
the heat shield does squat if in the engine room is hot.. ~70 degrees at all times you can not shield air from air:)

The idea isn't to shield air from air, it's to shield from radiated heat from the engine itself.
Add to that CAI (properly routed) and you have all the cold air you need.
If the above is set up correctly you get all the benefit of an uprated panel filter plus a nice noise to go with it.

can you not see the hose intake on the right of the reg plate?

is rude to answer a question with a question; but anyway..
my question is not how the air got to the filter,, but how is delivered and how the cold air is separated by the hot air
i guess this thread is a dead end anyway, because all replays avoid to understand the point

I`m with escu_calin ... if you want induction kit - fit it properly, it`s not just about higher air flow but temperature is also important.
Inside this carbon box is one of standard cone filters. About 100 euro without MAF adaptor.

You have no break in connection from outside the car right into the engine.
If the inlet is positioned low down, which it normally is, and you hit a flood or any depth of standing water it's sucked into your engine.
I know it's not likely to happen but still...
