Book Value?

Postby agent s » Wed Jul 13, 2005 9:26 am

Can anyone tell, or let me know where I can find, the book value on my FTO which was stolen? I had just insured it 2 months previously with the brokers for 6k but does that mean that I'll get that back? Has anyone here been in the same situation?

It was a '95 with 80k km...

I think 6k is prob about right, no reason you shouldn't get that back I'd say!

Phew...! Would have added insult to injury to have to add money to my next FTO

Thanks for the reply!

One of the best guides to market values is places like Buy & Sell, what are they selling for in there? Some are way overvalued but it'll give you a good feel for it if nothing else.

For VRT purposes the revenue have an open market selling price, but this tends to be lower than the actual (no complaints, means VRT is lower too ).

Just wondering if you were with Quinn Direct (who can be nasty when dealing with a claim) - You're in good hands with Dave and crew :)

ah i just asked one of the girls in here and she was waiting to hear back from you, easier again would be to drop down to the office get the forms here and and fill it out here with someone and then i think you just have to bring it away to get the it stamped by the cops and that's all you can do.

Wow! Great to have someone on the inside! Thanks! Didn't know anyone there was waiting for me to get back to them? Left a message on Lindsay's( :?: ) voicemail to see if I could get a rental until the claim is sorted (apparently some ins co do that?!). But tell her sorry if she was waiting to hear back from me!

Won't be able to go to collect the paperwork, but have someone who can. Hopefully they'll collect it & I can have everything sorted for when the 30 days is up.

Sorry about rant! I'm sure your brokerage is great - they have been very good to me so far! Just mentally scarred from the bank! Not my scene at all! Too impatient!

Did they not tell you what % of your premium was spent on the internet bill?

Joking!!

I'm sure this is part of the service, to understand the needs of their customers better, right Dave?

well i'm not technically involved in the insurance, more on the finance side, i'd take maximum ten calls a day unlike the general insurance would take that an hour!

plus it's research of course!!
