keep her or sell her DECISIONS DECISIONS

Postby paul2508 » Sun Sep 12, 2010 9:02 pm

as some of you might have seen i have my fto up for sale....
im posting this up because im questioning myself every hour of the day if i should sell her or not. :? :?
i had big planfor her, adding good upgrades to it . never had an ounce of trouble with it .
i was excited about adding the upgrades to her ,hearing the apex exhaust etc, but i haver lost some interest in it.
i know ill probably regret it if i sell. just dunno what to do.
i think totalling one of my alloys put a downer on it as i was totally gutted about it.i know i can just get a new set but loved these wheels and they cost a fortune just for one .
im just looking for you guys and gals opinions on what i should do.
i was looking to get my old vectra back as the person who bought it off me is selling up now
see here...http://www.gumtree.ie/dublin/81/65156381.html
lovely car so it is . just cant decide what to do
any opinions are much appreciated...

cheers.

you asking on an FTO owners forum if you should sell your FTO ? you know what the answer will be, :)

I think it's really up to how handy is the car for you and how affordable.
Seeing that u owned 3 of them at this stage I reckon you know now how the market is.

Either way best of luck with any decision you take . It is hard enough to get a clean example now

Don't know how you could compare that vectra to your FTO. The asking price on that Vectra is also at least a grand too high.
I wouldn't even take a straight sway for your FTO.

You really can't compare a 1.6 family saloon to a 2l sports coupe like the FTO. You're talking about spending more money to get a far worse car IMO - better put this money into getting your FTO sorted.

It sounds to me like your issues are more deep routed. If this is indeed your third FTO -this should tell you something. You like FTO's. Or perhaps you are just a creature of habit. Nothing wrong with that (I'm on my third FTO too  ). But buying back your old car (whatever it may be) -just seems a bit odd especially when it's a mainstream ten-a-penny car like a vectra. If you are going to sell the FTO at least move on to something else.

If you were upset at kerbing an alloy, just think how upset you'll be when the whole car is gone.

I'm not sure who is responsible for the appearance of that vectra you or the current owner, and at the risk of stepping on someones toes. WTF, Those wheels and lexus lights, c'mon -I'd be embarrased to take a lift in that thing let alone drive it.
And while we are at it, on a matter of principle people abusing the Quick search function should be dragged out and shot. :smt072 Or at least be boycotted. :smt013

Quick search =Vectra (only)

With you there - its annoying when you are searching through (or window shopping in my case) looking at EVO's/GTR's et al and you mostly get a pagefull of badly modified sh1tboxes.

e.g. the guy who is selling that Vectra has also seen fit to include it in searches for among others - m3 m5 evo r32 r33 skyline...300zx...sti wrx...mivec.....ae86..and to top it all off - a boat and a bike. Not sure if I was in the market for an M3 or M5 that the Vectra would float my boat although I would rather travel by bike.

I searched fro 300zx's a couple of weeks ago and got 5 or 6 pages of ads, 3 Z's in them after all the crap was whittled out. If I'm looking for a Z I dont want a fecking 316 BMW or a set of alloys for a Mirage!

decided to keep it...gonna put all the upgrade bits into mine . would seem like a waste after going all the way to waterford to buy an fto(which i was after for three years :) ) strip all the goodies for myself and then just getting rid of everything just like that. gonna purchase some gaskets, hangers new bolts and fit exhaust, get brake fluid for brake kit change.only thing is,is that i cant remove the coilovers because i have nothing to keep the breaker car standing. but have the excitment again about modding my fto.

thanks peeps :D
