The Grunts on Deis Roc, TG4, tonight at 10pm

Postby kevinod » Mon May 22, 2006 4:33 pm

Hi all,

a quick bit of shameless self promotion

My band The Grunts are appearing on Deis Roc tonight at 10pm on TG4.

Its a battle of the bands type thing, we're up against another band head to head to decide who gets to the final next week. Both bands play 2 tunes each, one in english and one as gaeilge.

WE NEED YOUR VOTES! Voting is by text, and all votes go into a draw for 2 tickets to Oxegen so you might even have your first weekend in July sorted out! (texts 60c)

Send "grunts" to 53500 (or 83222 from NI) from 10pm tonight. You'll get a text back confirming your vote was registered. Voting runs all week until Friday, but as the politician said, vote early and often!

Band website with pics and a few tunes - http://www.the-grunts.com
Deis Roc website - as Gaeilge or in English

Kev.

No hassles... it was good, we were happy enough it came out well. It was recorded at the end of March so we were just in a pub in Cork watching it last night.

Just down to the voting now.... its repeated on Friday evening at about 6pm, and I've recorded it so I'm going to try to get some stills from the show and put them up on our website.

lol a few people have mentioned his irish alright  The cameras and lights and everything got to him a bit I think, started going blank and getting the giggles! Having the stunning presenter standing next to him probably didn't help either! :smt055

For anyone who wants to catch the repeat its on this evening at about 6pm (there's your excuse for getting out early on a friday afternoon!).

Voting is still open, for those who already voted merci many many buckets, for those who haven't every vote counts! Think of it as a raffle ticket for 2 oxegen tickets, only 60c!

Text "grunts" to 53500 (or 83222 for NI)!

Saw the programme at the origianal spot on tg4. I have done a lot of work in Bandon/Inishannon, the apts behind O'Brien's saddlery shop and what used to be the to be the old cop shop and the new town shopping center next to the solicitors. the bro is married to a lass from clon. We ate/drank in Bidies and Nyhans.
Please do not adjust your sets

We played in the Plunkett Inn a couple of weeks back in Bandon, good venue, and in Sheppos and 'The Local' in Innishannon around the same time.

We're hoping to venture down to Clon in the next few months, keep an eye on our gigs page in case we're playing when you're down next!
