How cool would it be never to go near a sump when changing the oil? This yoke looks like it could very useful in terms of emptying fluids from engines, gearboxes and coolant systems, its designed for boats but I don't see why it can't be used for automotive applications:

We have something very similar at home... handy out and mess free. Just have 2 reservations:
If there are any metal filings or any muck drained down to the bottom of the sump, this vaccum thing probably won't suck it out.
Also, the one we have at least can get clogged pretty easily, which can be a pain, not too bad, but awkward.

Spent a year working at a petrol station back in Denmark..(poor student living away from home all that jazz) - and we had a big sucktion thing that would suck all the oil up..similar to this only much much larger...

That would be my main concern also. Engines and auto gearboxs are fitted with filters which would hopefully collect the bulk of any solids, however you can't beat gravity, and I'd expect any solids to gather right at the bottom. I think this approach would best be used as supplementary to the traditional approach rather than as a replacement. That said I believe certain manufacturers are using this approach on modern cars.
