A WEIRD RUNNING PROBLEM....................

Hi all
Right this is the situation, I have a 1.8gs on start-up she idles very low within a few seconds the cooling fan cuts in then the engine managment light comes on and spits out black soot from the exhust, this does happen from cold start and when warmed up.
I have tried resetting ecu (battery off for half hour)!

Has anybody experianced the same???

Welcome to the site..

that doesn't sound healthy at all - I would get the car to a mechanic straight away... If you're in the Dublin region I'd recommend Paul Nolan.. (do a search and you'll find his details.)
