very low idle

can anyonw throw some light on thids wee problem i had tonight. when i come to a standstill the revs go way down to nearly nothing then back up to normal!!!!!!!!!! once it cut out .......i installed new dvd player tonight and this only happened since i installed the dvd player...........could it be related?

Could be your Stepper motor or maybe a drain on your battery somewhere do a search for power loss or stepper,idle.

thanks ,,she's fine today, has'nt done it since, will check for power loss, funny feeling it was dvd player. i took out again and checked wiring, fine now.

i got rid of the dvd player as i had suspicion it was the cause of engine not idle'ing right, was going too low, when i took out dvd player no trouble since,,,,,,,was faulty anyways friend gave me it and said wont eject dics properly......

Strange, normally you get slightly higher idle if there's something if something is soaking up a bit of current like if you have lights on or a subwoofer. Don't see why the idle would fall lower from a DVD player.
