Not really colm no. Notice I didnt say Integra's arent known as Tegs in my previous post? Cause I know they are, I was saying I've never heard of an Altezza called a 'Tezza, which I havent. Maybe people do call them that, I just havent heard it.
Anyway, like I said before, thats beside the point, end of.

Yup, a teg is an Integra, DC2 etc. refers to the particular year model, a bit like BMW drivers referring to their car as an E30 or E46, or Merc drivers talking about a W124, for long runnning models, it makes life a lot easier than saying " I have a C Class saloon, the 1994-1999 model"

Be sort of like us when talking on the site, we dont say we have an FTO GPX 2.0L V6 Mi-Vec, we say we have a GPX, or a GR, or GS or whatever the case is.
Thought Merc drivers usually use classes though no? As in 'I have a C class', or an E class. The BMW thing I have heard all right though, E46, etc.

For merc enthusiasts or drivers of older mercs, they often use the model code to avoid confusion between different models - particularly ones when model production overlapped each other. more on websites than anything else I suppose.

you'll see people referring to EK or EG civics, or EP91 Starlets, just makes things easier.

Or Levin as no-one likes to call them!! Gas though, when people say 'twin-cam' you know exactly what car they mean, though there are tons of different twin cams out there.

I remember the Twin Cams getting popular the first time around (around 1996/7) they had just got affordable, and most came from the UK (complete with yellow rear Irish regs and daring fonts) most had TWIN CAM written in huge writing (not original decals) on the side, this is probably why most people associate the name with the car.

The gran turismo generation would know the twinky more commonly as Levin which was their jdm tag.

Still fairly popular though! As drifters though, who would have thought you'd go drifting in a toyota corolla?! :D
See a lot of them around Cork, I think every city or town has there brand, like Limerick I think is Hondas, mallow in cork seems to be the toyota corolla hatchbacks, and cork city has tons of the twin cams.

Rotary heads use FB (1st gen), FC (2nd gen) and FD (3rd gen) to describe what model of RX-7 they own. This concept was borne in Japan, they tend to use model codes to describe their motors. This is especially true when searching Yahoo! japan auctions, you'll get more results back searching with DE3A than FTO.

If you've ever watched Initial D episodes, you'll notice that the lads use chassis codes a lot more than model names, none of the Teg, Tezza or Scooby lark ;)
