1996 GR manual Passion Red FTO [SOLD]

Postby Viper » Fri Feb 16, 2007 10:38 am

Unfortunately the time has come for me to sell up - have to make room for my new baby. (It is a baby, doesn't even have a boot to speak of!)

It's a 1996 GR manual version with a little over 100000 miles (168000km).
NCT until End of January 2009, the car just passed this morning (thanks for ricerocket!). Taxed until end of Feb.
Passed on a retest, see http://www.fto-ireland.com/forum/phpBB2 ... php?t=4664 for details.
Standard interior with the exception of an Alpine cda-7897 phantom faced radio I fitted when I first got the car,

Standard Engine all round and serviced regularly in Galway whenever I get home. It will go in for a full service and oil change this weekend before I sell. Timing belts etc changed recently. Oil changed every 3 months or so, can probably dig our receipts to prove this.
Brand new Mongoose stainless steel twin exit exhaust (thanks again to ricerocket)
17in alloys (Rial Montreals 17x8in) all round with Goodyear F1's 215-40-17 on front, 235-40-17 on rear. Alloys are about a 18months old, and are in perfect condition with the exception of a coulple of scuff marks on the passenger side front due to optomistic parking habits!

All tyres are in great condition, rears are virtually brand new and were fitted specifically for the NCT.
Obviously from recent posts, brake system has been completly flushed out and values replaced, passed the NCT with virtually no imbalance. Brake pads replaced also.
Exterier wise car is in great condition, with no stone chips or scuff marks with the exception of one problem as said below.

Problems:
1. Some frequenter of Liffey valley decided to do some remodelling on my rear aeriel. (the optional extra retractable one on the rear of the car). I haven't as yet replaced this but will endevour to do so. It is however causing reception problems when you go West of Athlone !
2. There is one slight bump on the rear drivers side - I'm guessing that a previous owner hit the petrol pump of it when filling up one day. It is only quite small, (about 2in accross), has not damaged the paintwork and is not really visible unless you're looking out for it.
3. The centre piece of one of the allows has somehow dissappeared in the last couple of days, I will replace this though before sale.

As yet I have no pictures to post but I will put them up over the weekend. I'll include pictures of the 3 issues above as well.

Finally asking price....... errr... ummm... how about €7500?

Don't really know... came with the car. I like it though as it doesn't in any way spoil the rear view and it's a little more understated than normal.
I'll take a look at lunch time and see if I can get a make off it...

Nice one. That was quite a fast sale.Where did you advertise? I need to get my finger out and get my car advertised. It's uninsured at the moment so the for sale sign on it can only be seen by my neighbours. Which website is best value?
