Battery drains by itself in a day

Postby revslide » Mon Jul 05, 2010 1:21 pm

Hi everyone, i having been driving my fto for a couple of weeks with a healthy voltage and no signs of cranking problems.

It was only just yesterday afternoon when i realised i couldn't start the car at all. (Checked nothing was left switched on) I then finally managed to start it after a forcing a long and dreadful cranking noise while stepping on the accelerator. I tried switching off and starting the engine repeatedly and it starts again although not as dreadful.

With that, I concluded that the longer that i leave the car unattended, the less the power on the battery has to start the car up..

As i needed to drive the car to work daily, i had no time to troubleshoot it but to purchase a new set of battery.

The thing is i'm curious if it's something that causes the battery to drain its power or just a faulty set? I sure hope it's the latter though.

Anyway i have just took some pictures of the battery voltage with its new battery. There was still a slight prolonged cranking sound though. *sigh* Guys please tell me know if it looks normal to you...*pray*

Looks ok to me, from memory thats what mine looks like.
I had the same problem with my battery when I came back from nearly a year away, the car wasnt started for a few months so the battery went dead. Anytime I charged it it just went dead the next night it was left out. A new battery sorted it out, you should be fine now.
