climate control buttons not working all the time

sometimes the buttons on my climate control work but more often than not they dont. meaning i cannot alter the fan speed etc... or even turn it off! all i can do is alter the temp, and put the front and rear demist on or off, please help me as am sure it uses more fuel with the aircon on all the time. thanks Darren, BLACK FTO GPX

Welcome lemons

At a guess, your aircon ECU is screwed and needs replacing, you should be able to pick one up cheap enough second hand. If you know any other owners, swap out a working ECU into your own dash and see if theres any difference in a/c operation.
