Bushes and Shocks Query

Postby ftokl » Wed May 24, 2006 2:35 pm

Hi All,

Am slowly freshening up a GS and Im about to change the rear lower arm bushes, was wondering if anyone here has done these before. Id like to know if I'll need a press and how hard they are to remove/replace?
I recently went at the front wishbone bushes (front ones) and these are awkward to say the least.

Also I came across front shocks for cheap. They are Tokico's, are these any good? Has anyone ever used them in an FTO?

Thanks,
Keith.

Yea you will need a press to remove the bushes from the rear lower arms. They are also likely to be fairly heavily corroded in place.....

Hi,

never heard of tokico, but I suspect if you could use them on an FTO and they were cheap I would have.

Take a look at http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m3b0s585p415 for shocks for the FTO.

Kev.

Btw, this is due to me spending far too much time on fto-ireland and ftooc, not any insider knowledge!

Yea the Konis would be first choice if I had the cash, a quick fix is needed for the mo. The Tokicos are cheap and thats the only reason Im considering them. I can get KYB's for 50 more, will probably go for them.
Adjustables will have to wait :(

The KYB's are just fine - much better than originals IMO.

I've stuck them on mine with some apex springs - changed droplinks and bushes all round as well - tightens up the car no end.

BTW - where in Clare are you from - I'll keep an eye out.

Just found out that Tokico make a lot of OEM shocks for companies like Mazda (the Mazdaspeed arm specifically), the Mazda lads speak highly of them...
