Pistons or Head-gaskets?

Postby RedOut » Thu Apr 16, 2009 10:43 am

Hi!
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get pistons or head-gaskets that would give my 6A12 Mivec around 12:1 compression?
This is to be a race only engine
Thanks,

Some question for your first post!

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm curious to know how you came to the figure of 12:1 compression?

I am not running pump gas and compression gives power. 12:1 is what I use to run on my 4AGE long pass those days
I have extractor,2.5 tune length exhaust, piggy pack ECU, 70mm throttle body with my own intake manifold and chamber which I have not finished or tested as yet and a few other bits.
12:1 is just what I want to run :smt004

Hi and welcome to the club.

Sadly i think your going to need new pistons to get that sort of compression
as with the FTO's standard 0.3mm head gasket and standard pistons you have 10:1 compression
and your not going to have a propper gasket and get 12:1

I can get you 6 pistons, pins, locks, contact reduction grooves, pin oilers and rings €825 + Vat
These can be custom made for your compression.
With optional Carrillo rods with 5/16" CARR bolts for €282 + VAT

Would it be possable to skim the head back enough to raise the compression?
And then get a custom made head gasket made?
