Attempted Theft

Postby dave100 » Thu Aug 17, 2006 3:42 pm

I got back from a weekend in Paris to find my car had been broken into whilst in the airport car park (Q-Park). The car park attendant called the airport police who took all my details and advised me to take it up with the airport itself.
I sent them a letter and got a reply from Q Park saying that they would not repair my car (£350 damage) as there are signs in the carpark clearly absolving them of any responsibility for damage to any vehicle.
I have asked my solicitor to send them a letter as i feel its definitely worth further investigation. I feel if you are paying someone to park your vehicle in their land then they must provide you with a duty of care for that vehicle.
Has anyone any experience of this situation?

Thats brutal. I know that lads used to drive shyteboxes into the main long term, park them up and drive out with another car, I would be interested to know if they had the same policy as Q-park (although I would guess so). Keep up the pressure and let us know how you get on...

Apparently if you don't see the sign, the rule don't apply..

Sounds like a pile of frolicks to me..but I saw it on 5th gear I thought...
