Postby Masa » Tue Nov 10, 2009 3:24 pm

Hi all !

greetings from switzerland ;)

First pic of the FTO discovering the snow :D
Just great :smt007 Gotta buy snow tyres though, was a bit reckless to do it with regular tyres but the drifts were kinda funny

How are you getting on over there? Are you getting odd looks?

Well honestly it went like crap for some time.. 2 months after getting there I lost my job for economical reasons and 2 days later my wife dumped me for a guy she just met..
So I let you imagine :o

But it's going better, found another job, starting on monday for a good salary (50K + bonus) and my "wife" affair is finished and she's getting closer to me.. Dunno what will happen though, future will tell. I'm getting out of the depressed state of mind :p

I'm preparing the FTO nowadays to finally register it here, so I'm changing the exhaust, all the tires, the beams direction on the lights, fixing some stuff (brakes, some joints ...)
and got an accident last week as well, a woman was driving on reverse, didn't see me, bumped me on the side.. But her insurance is gonna pay for everything so that's fine.

I do have some odd looks but not that much ^^ But that's normal, the number of ferrari, lamborghinis, bentley, aston martins, R8... around here is just astonishing, so they're used to better and most of them don't give a crap about the FTO :p

But when I drove to France to see the family I did have a lot of odd looks ^^

edit : hey you moved to NZ? How is it over there?? Always wanted to go there, looks amazing :)

Wow, an exciting (if not all good!) time so far! Hope it all works out for you anyway! Keep positive!
Didnt think there would be so many supercars over there, never thought of it as a really rich country, but I suppose it makes sense that there would be. Nice to be mixing in with all of those, the FTO is well suited over there so. :D
Best of luck with the new job!

thanks ^^

about the supercars, there are really a load of it.
Don't spend a single days without seeing at least 3/4 of them on the roads.
Switzerland is extremely rich ^^ Tons of banks :p

BTW I'm in a club and we hold a meeting every first sunday of the month, I do look like a poor guy coming with my FTO when the others bring their Ferraris, lamborghinis, lotus, astons, corvettes ...

Honestly I see more S3/S4/S5/S6 than A3/A4/A5/A6 .. And that's not a joke... M3 and M5 are just crawling everywhere as well, it's amazing...
To give you an idea, in the parking of my building there is a Mustang GT 500, an aston vanquish, a SLK 500 AMG ...

anyway my plans are simple, drive the FTO for another 6 months, then buy a Mustang GT. Then I'll rebuild the FTO as new to keep it in a mint, collection, state :) Probably the only one in Switzerland.. ^^

Mustang GT 500, I absolutely love them!
Wow seems like you see a lot of good cars so, would be a good country to go to live in!
Whats the main language there? Is there a Swiss language or is it French? How is the country itself doing at the moment? Is it the same as the rest of Europe or is there actually work there?

Switzerland is doing quite well compared to european countries :)

and the language.. Well in the west part they speak french, in the south east part they speak italian and elsewhere they speak german ^^ Most of them speak english as well.
It is a bit complicated so here's a map of the languages to make it easier :)
Where I live they all speak french, but 30 kms further they all speak german lol
