Good Auto-Electrcian

Postby Aido C » Wed Oct 21, 2009 8:33 pm

Can anyone recommend a good auto electrician in Dublin? Preferably north side but doesn't matter too much. I want to get the car sorted. I changed the engine coolant temperature sensor today. Thought that my be why the mivec is not working but it didn't make any difference. Think it's time for a professional again.

Which? Changing the temperature sensor? Takes 2 minutes. Its on the top of the engine about 5 cm back from where you put the coolant in. It's on the side of the engine near where the bell-housing meets the engine. It has two wires going into it. Pull the plug off and unscrew the sensor with a 19mm spanner. Probably good to move the air filter pipe for visibility.
Hope this helps. If you have any questions just ask.

Aido, may be a bit out of your way but I can recommend Blanch Auto Electric (018200840). The guy is good but he's always busy.

Be careful when doing this that you don't puncture the coolant hose that runs near the sensor. I did this when trying to unscrew mine. This made the job take a lot longer than 2 mins.
