Sunday business post article here Scary stuff, a major blow to the area and another mile stone in the current economic story. I know we have a few forum members employed there, I hope things work out for you guys
Scary stuff indeed, I've been in Dell since I was 18.
The missus works there too
All we can do is wait and see, there's meant to be an announcement in January.
The writing's been on the wall for a while though...
Cheers CJ.
The thing that gets me about companies like these is they're still making money.
If they were losing money you'd understand but as soon as revenue drops slightly from the previous year it's panic stations.
No thought is spared for the people that got them their billions, a sign of the times I suppose.
Yep, you'd imagine relocating a factory like that to Eastern Europe or whatever would be a major hassle for them. My heart goes out to anyone working in Limerick at the moment.
Hopefully they'll see a bit of sense and ensure that full time and long term staff and workers get to at least have an offer of remaining.
Not a good time to be breaking news like that to people but hopefully it'll work out.
Hope it all works out ok not a nice time of year to be hearing news like that, John is in the same boat as they have 3 plants in ireland and the word going around is that 1 is going to close down, just which 1 is not known yet
