Insurance turn off's

Been driving the E Class faultlessly for the last 3 years and I was shopping a bit around to see if any large jap v6 might replace it .
Browsing I found this yoke ( the wheels are terrible I know) . 2.5 V6 215 bhp auto





cheapest quotation was 1850 TPFT
I mean WHAT ?I've payed less then half for the FTO .

Are people paying this much for a chaser or a fat camry ?

I am paying €512 with XS direct on the Chaser, 3 years NCB, 34 Years old.
But I heard the company are no longer acting as an insurance company and are merged with quoteme.ie as a broker so dont know if you will have any luck there.

When i checked with them last year, the excess was 3k iirc

You've a choice of excess that you'll pay: €1,000/€2,000/€3,000.

The less excess you choose, the higher the insurance cost. For one of my initial quotes directly with them it was €2,800 per year for €1,000 excess or €2,100 for €3,000.

In the end I managed to get a great quote via quoteme.ie of €1,580 for the FTO (Just as named driver, paying for the cost of someone else to be the policy holder too).

Its a joke. 123.ie €470 last year on the gpx. Was looking at a 1.3 jimny and quoted €446. Tried aviva and its over €600 on a jimny and a 1.4 focus. What the hell!!!

People should be careful and not be drawn into cheaper prices for the sake of it being cheaper. I like being insured, rather than just having a disc to drive on the road. If the excess on a policy is more than my bank allows me to take out of the atm, then i won't be insured.
