Is this the driveshaft

Postby boru » Fri Jan 23, 2009 8:30 pm

When driving today I noticed that when moving of slowly from a stop the car was uneven in its motion, a shuttering or shunting movement, and a faint noise coming from under the car. The car has always been very smooth in take off before. It is only noticeable when edging forward in a queue, when speed picks up it disappears. Any ideas. It is a GPX mivec.
Thanks

could also be a wheel bearing, you may be right though. jack the car up and check for any play in the wheel. could well be a driveshaft though.

Well exactly 1 week later it seems that my problem is not the drive shaft but a gearbox problem. While driving today, she stuck in 3rd gear and the neutral light kept flashing. I'm going to have to take her to get a diagnostic check done. Does anyone know a good mechanic who works on Mitsubishis' in the North. I'd rather not have to take her to a dealership (costs). Thanks

Do it yourself man!! im completely clueless but i managed it! Do a search for diagnostic, its easy and cheap. It should reveil all... and this flashing 'N' is often refered to as 'safety mode' so search that too. It happened me before too. Most of the time its minor, ie) input/output sensor. I was a bit less fortunate.... Is it 4 speed r 5 speed?
Fully functional White GPvR....
