I`ve got it finally!

Postby Mitsumaniac » Mon Jul 06, 2009 8:01 am

Hi everyone, a bit of news in the morning :)

Ladies and gentelman.... I`d like to introduce you my new candy.

It`s one of 160 produced in year 2000, and one of the very last of the factory as it is from June 2000.
Even more, it is an official UK import by Ralliart in 2001, and first registration ever is from Sep 2001!

Passion red, manual GPX!!! :P
Just brought it over from the UK yesterday.
The car has every MOT from new, every service, piles of original documentation etc.
Milage is 64700, and the most of it was done in last 4 years as MOT from 2005 states 14000 miles !!!

It`s a spotless example, with just very few stonechips on the front and nothing else!
The only thing I`m wory about are the tappets and clutch... tappets will need adjusting and cluth will have to be replaced probably in 6 months or so.

The car is completely standard apart from aftermarket exhaust - not sure about the make, 17" OZ alloys, front brake discs and red stuff. The only bits I want to replace on her is exhaust (bought quad decat blueflame) and springs (apex), plus some minor things like dial rings+cups and carbon kick plates

There are some carcon kick plates on sale on ebay at the minute, see here:
http://cgi.ebay.ie/Mitsubishi-FTO-Goki-Carbon-Door-Sil-step_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a1301Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem3ef5ef5441QQitemZ270414074945QQptZUKQ5fCarsPartsQ5fVehiclesQ5fCarPartsQ5fSMQQsalenotsupported
I was reading a thread on the uk site about these and the guys on there found the sils cheaper in Japan/China (cant remember which). But as the seller pointed out the price you pay with him is including VAT etc, if you buy from asia you have to pay extra in taxes, import duty etc plus you wont have any come back on them should any thing happen. Where as he was english based and would look after you should anything happen to them during transport etc. Might be worth the few extra quid for piece of mind. They are made by epracing so do a search for that and see what you come up with.
Also if buying the dial rings make sure you get the deep dial rings. The deep dial rings are better as you are not left with the black ring on your clocks as can be seen in this pic:

81 GPX FTOs produced in 2000, not sure how many of them were manual but we've four on the forum now (three in Ireland).
Not bad going...

I wonder if any of them were on the line together?

There used to be more info on http://www.mitsubishi-fto.net, but the site has changed.
