FTO Light in Door

Postby RussMan » Sun Jul 03, 2005 6:42 pm

Hey,

I'm having trouble fixing one of the lights on the lip of the door
the glowing fto light thing.. Does anyone know what the story is with these? I took off the whole cover and the couldn't see anything really... There doesn't appear to be LEDs or bulbs of any kind in it.. looks sort of like a glow pad ... never seen this type of light b4.
It would appear that the 12volts is going down the cable after testing the line. Any ideas would be great thanks :?:

You appear to have a rare FTO stainless kickplate - I have yet to see one of these that doesn't occasionally go on the blink. My own passenger side one is fine but the drivers side tends to work when it feels like it - I wouldn't worry too much about it - I'd say the only way to fix it is to replace it.

For a quick check, dissconnect the other doors kick plate and connect the suspect kickplate to its position, if it lights up then you know the other doors switch (or cables) is at fault if it doesn't light up then you know the issue is with the kickplate.
