****ing Drive Belts

Postby steelroe » Mon Dec 08, 2003 10:22 am

On friday night my aircon belt snapped again while revving the car to the limt. Car came a halt and at first i thought the timing belt had snapped but thankfully not. Unfortunately the crank angle sensor wires got ripped out again. This is the second feck time this has happened and I had to spend all day Saturday stripping off the timing covers and crankshaft pulley to get at the crank angle sensor. Luckily I had a spare sensor off one of the scrapped cars.

The belts are new and very good quality.

Has anyone else on here had this problem.
I checked the pulley alignment and everything seems fine.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Pain in the ass when this happens, especially when you've planned to be doing other stuff on your time off, at least you fixed it though.

I've heard of this happening once or twice, a search on SG FTOList or the FTOOC forum should bring up something.
