Back left side of the plenum (or intake manifold if you prefer).

Just checked the Workshop manual, book 1 page 221, connector is number 3.

Out of curiousity, why do you want to know?

I got a IAT Timing sensor from EBay to boost BHP.

I not sure if I am going to fit it though, could be more trouble than its worth.

My advice for what its worth is not to fit it. Chances are you won't see any bhp increase and possibilities are it could damage your engine.

All these chips/muck you can find on ebay try to fool the ECU into thinking something is happening which is not, or change what the ECU sends to parts of the engine. Can't be a good idea IMHO!! Mitsi spent a lot of money developing the FTO and its systems and came up with a well tuned engine, difficult to squeeze much more bhp out of it without some expensive mods.

The proper way to add bhp would be to look at your induction & exhaust systems so your engine can breathe in & out more easily, but there's no cheap way of doing it.

One other option, there are systems you can that allow you to remap (d_dan did this recently).

Mick you likely just bought a resistor that fools the engine into thinking that the air is cold - this could lead to detonation - the factory ECU is there for a reason - bypassing the IAT is not the way to go.
The best place for it is in the bin.

The amount of people that fall for this crap is unbelievable.

Its easy to see how people can be fooled, look at the lovely graph, and the list at the top which gives stuff like engine mods, full exhaust, and then the prices, and at the very top? Resistor chip for a few quid gives 20bhp gain, way more economical than engine mods and induction kit! If you didnt know about cars you'd nearly believe it!

If its too good to be true then it usually is!
