noticed this this morning when going to work and when heading home . when i get to about 3k revs there is a quick whine from the car.
doing my head in, i was thinking its was a gearbox issue , a bearing of some sort?? anyone have this problem before??

Funnily enough - this happened to me when my alternator was on its way out. One way to test this before it fully gives out is to disconnect negative battery lead (black one) when car is running. If car switches off your alternator is on its last legs !
