Importing

Was onto Japnuts today and I was quoted 10,500 for a 1997 GPX grade 4.0 car with less than 70,000km on the clock. Thats everything paid for excluding road tax/nct?
Does this sound like a genuinely good deal? :?

we paid 9K for a 97 pre-facelift GPX tip.

If your paying for a grade 4 car insist on seeing the auction sheet it should have the grade in the top right hand corner.

I got a quote for a 97 GPvR Manual, with mileage under 50 000km and full spec for about 8,000 fully imported in SA from Japan, www.gmjcars.com if anyone cares...

Usually the prices are pretty much the same there and here when I compare to people that got the same model FTO as I do. Paid about 5,000 for my GR Tip.

These are the guys who sent mine over, bought it in Feb, didn't send it to me until July, and even that was after me screaming at them for my money back a few times. Once they'd bought the car they didn't once contact me before I sent them an email asking what the status of it was.

Same guys who bought me a car with a really poor respray job on the left front wing, and front and back wheels didn't match either, so to be honest they come with my seal of strong disapproval :!:

Its all sorted now and I'm very happy with my FTO, but it ended up being more expensive that it should have been.

You've been warned!!
Kev.

Edit: said right wing instead of left (where is my head this morning)

But in general your car was in good condition, right kev?

It took me 2 and a half months from ordering to get to my door, and was in good condition except for cigarette burns here and there, and the fact that it's underpowered didn't help, but I don't think thats them, just a whole bunch of factors that differ here.

I've been looking to import another one, can anyone then recommend someone in Japan thats can offer a good price and value? I know of these guys, http://www.cineaction.co.jp/japanese_used_cars/ , has anyone tried or heard of them before?

Otherwise I had good service from Gandhara so will probably use them again if need be.
