petrol release flap.

mines stuck when i try to pull the lever for the petrol flap inside the car.any other way to release the petrol flap.and why is it stuck? cheers folks :roll:

The little spring gets tired - you need to pull it out a bit and it will be good as new.

Get someone to pull the release and at the same time open the flap by hand - then sort the spring.

Happens me every now and again, I use the seatbelt to pull the lever while I lean over to the cap and pull it open. Should suss it out and adjust it I reckon but it works a lot of the time too.

Or you could do like I did and use your big toe to pull the release and at full stretch your fingernails to prise open the flap!

Another thing to look out for is the hinge, it might be too tight putting pressure on the spring to do its job effectivily (spell) the way the hinge is the plate wraps around the pin at either end but it isn't sealed, get a flat head screw driver an just prize open the end a tiny bit you'll be amazed at the difference opening and closing the flap.
