Tail-lamp tinting film

Hi all.

I`ve got a black tinting film for tinting your tail-lights, side/front indicators.
What you get is 2 pieces of film, 25cm x 60cm each, which is more than enough to tint both tail-lamps.

You have to spend about 30 mins on 1 light to have it done correctly but it`s realy easy process as it`s a simply "sticker"... not like windows tinting. It becomes very plastic under heat treatment which is very helpful on some difficult shapes. FTO lights are very simple to do tho...

There are more colors available (red, green, blue) But i`d have to get a minimul of 5 orders of one colour due to postage costs and it`ll take me about 10 days to receive it.

Remember, this is special film for tinting tail-lghts. You can use it for indicators as well but not for windows. It`s too thick and doesn`t have "100% clear" transparency.
If you get the pics from Limerick 2007 I also had my lights tinted on my silver FTO. Was parked beside Colm`s, at the end. I even passed NCT with this film on it, so I can say it`s road legal

So anyway I intend to sell it on eBay for about 12-13 euro or directly to club members for 10e. There will be a piece big enough to cover 2 lights and side indicators.

It`s very easy to apply but also very easy to remove if you get bored or just want to go back to the standard

It doesn`t fade, has a gloss finish and is pretty much resistant to all wheather conditions. Regarding scratch resistance, I`d say it`s as scratch resistant as your car Check out my website or PM me if youre interested

It`s a thick film on carrier waxed paper so it can be easly cut by scisors.
You just have to be carreful and slowly transfer the film to the lamp, taking off carrier paper more and more avoiding bubbles. On some difficult curvy shapes it can be heated up by hair dryer and it becomes stretchable, so it`s easier to work with.
The lights remain as visible as without the film and as I wrote earlier I even passed NCT with my tinted lights.

Are you providing a template that will allow for exact cutting of the correct FTO tail lamp shape ? Should have this rather than have everyone trying to reinvent the wheel.

It`s applied on the outside of the light...
You don`t need to cut exact shape, you just cut off excess of the film when it`s already applied.

Does it last for a long time Tomas? Like with the spray tint it fades after a while, does this tint have to stripped and reapplied or is it practically life long material? As in fading or holding its colour. Been planning on doing my rear lights and was going to spray tint but if this stuff is good might go down this road instead.

There is a specific lacquer supposed to go over tint spray Martin, I didn't know that till I saw the stuff in the shop with the paint.

I think the best example to tell you how long it last is, that not more than 2 months ago I saw my old FTO parked on the road and it still had the lights tinted by me about 3 years ago. I took a closer look and they were still in the same condition though the car itself looked crap someone stuck loadz of "MITSUBISHI"stickers on the windows and doors....

There`s one big + using this film... if you don`t like it you can simply rip it off without a mark.

Cheers for that, 3 years isn't bad at all. Will be a possible item when I'm home, have to prioritize and see where on the list it goes.

If you think about improving an overal look I`d place it right behind alloys (don`t count bodykits )

Personal choice but theres a few more things I'd plan like the interior, lambos,, engine bay, etc., but if its cheap then it'll move up the ranks. At the end of the day what I can afford I'll do.

You do red dont you? And I want to leave the reversing lights white, don't want them covered, no problem with trimming it evenly no?

It doesn't affect the light colour afaik. Just makes them look black when there' no light.

Yep, I have red colour as well and trimming it won`t be a problem at all.
