Was the bell housing cleaned out thoroughly before fitting th new bearing.
I have seen new clutch kits fitted and within 2-3 months the bearing is shot again due to clutch disk dust entering it from build up on the housing.
Always remember the clutch disk is an abrasive friction surface.
Syn can youdescribe the noise you are hearing .
Of course it could be bearings but they usually fail due to lack of lubrication. If you remove the drain nut the magnet attached to it usually gives a good indication of metal to metal wear, buld up of metal filings
I only bought it in August so im not sure if the bearing was replaced mate. Ive just got the receipt for the clutch being done in Jan. Everything serviced/changed on the car has been done by mitsubishi.
I changed my gear oil about 2 weeks ago, theres no metal fillings in it or on the drain plug. The noise is a hard one to describe. You hear it inside the car when its warm and sat idling. When you let the clutch out when youve stopped and in neutral sometimes it makes between a ticking and a pumping sound, kinda sounds like its coming from behind the aircon unit sort of, but obviously further back. Then if you depress the clutch and release it stops. Sometimes you can depress the clutch a few times and it will start doing it again on 1 of them, but soon as you put it in again it stops.
