If in doubt - change it :-) better safe than sorry..

I haven't seen any guidelines - but I think it's somewhere between 75000 and 85000 km. Personally I'd change more often than that. prolly every 50k - I just don't want to be in the sitruation where a belt fails...cause that has the potential to be very very expensive.

On my black fto when i was doing 30-35k miles a year i changed my belt before every 50k miles i done so roughly every 18 months or less. Thou in the 6 years i owned the black one i actually changed the belt 6 times. Expensive yes but rather that than a new engine.

My mate works in the business and does alot of timing belts. They can go anytime even if not thrashed. but yeah them ost I would chance is 50,000 miles on one belt. Thats alot though. Personally I'll go for a change every 50,000km I think. better safe than sorry. For the sake of a few 100 euro every few years, or couple of grand if the belt snaps.

I thought I read somewhere it was something like every 100k, but as the guys say better safe than sorry.

I think the water pump is supposed to last about 125k or 135k... if you're changing belts every 50k every second time for the water pump should be plenty.

Yea it is supposed to be 100klm or 60k miles but i never wanted to leave it that long,

Yep i had 4 water pumps fitted to mine in 6 years 2 within the space of a month as one failed (housing cracked and lost all water mechanic that fitted it over tightened the bolts) so replaced it and the belts after only covering 2k miles,
