350z

Had a short spin in Russman's 350z - very, very nice car. Lovely tight, close feeling in the drivers seat but still managed to feel like a bigger car than it is :) Solid ride with no crashing and a sweet sounding engine

I'd say with the remap the TT and 350 would be on a par performance wise but I'm sorely tempted to change from the TT to a 350 now....

A remap and a bigger turbo would help perhaps but the TT would still have to learn a couple of tricks on the handling front.

Yeh you looked happy in the drivers seat soc...
I'm going to order a new exhaust for the laugh tomorrow cos i've a wedge burning a hole in my pocket since the fto shifted.

Any suggestions? I know we had a discussion about this before and i'm slightly off topic here, Shane, any idea where i'd get something nice? Might order a pop charger at the same time

Well I decatted mine - added a less restrictive stainless downpipe (Y pipe) and an RSR exhaust (removeable baffles). However even with the baffles in its very loud. I'm sure a lot of guys at the meet at the weekend would say its too loud - suits me though.

What I'd suggest you do is get the kinetix high flow cats and Y pipe on the standard exhaust - I bet it'll be plenty loud enough. The restriction in the standard Zed exhaust is really in the Cats and Y pipe - the centre section and back box have fairly good flow. A lot of guys speak highly of the Nismo exhaust but to me it looks just like the standard exhaust - money would be better spent on Y pipe and cats.

5 inch pipe all the way though.. just make sure it's stainless steel and not too soft..

No NCT issues with High Flow Cats and Y pipe.

You really are best logging onto www.350zukownersclub.com - check out the traders section for deals on exhaust etc - we have an Ireland section on there as well - there are only a few Irish owners but they're a nice bunch except obviously for myself and Dave.

It'd be rude not to - make the most of that sweet sounding engine :)

Aye, no question a standard TT couldn't live with the Zed straight line or handling - espeically on track. Never driven a QS but a lot of people rave about it -

In real world, a quick remap (+45bhp) plus some handling tweeks and the TT is a closer match. But then you could say the same about the Zed

I heard on the grapevine that a set of Koni sports with the fronts on soft and rears on medium coupled with a thicker rear arb and some modified front wishbone bushes (which reproduce the orginial early '99 cars handling) and you have potential oversteer - add in a performance haldex controller to send torque rearwards earlier and people say the car is transformed ;)

I'll admit it's still no rwd Zed though but then I'm not sure I'm a competant enough driver for a powerful rwd car :r

Looks like it... my bad :)
Due to go out in a new..ish S4 but not sure if there is any point, i really don't fancy much unless its a coupe. Just think i'll have to buy a second car so i've something to bring my son around in.

I wonder if i get onto quinn and ask them what the cheapest car to insure is will they tell me!!!! I can't bare spending another 1-2k on insurance for something like a Micra.

How bout you Dave, you going to keep yours? Black is the best colour... i'm, jealous!

Russ - Can't you just use the front seat of the Zed ? - you can put a forward facing baby chair there from 6 months on. If the seat is fully back theres no way the airbag can reach that far.

Yep, kept mine, bought herself a 06 Astra, so that'll be the family wagon!!
I plan on doing as Shane said about the forward facing baby seat in the front seat, but more research will be done on it.....

I already use the baby seat in the front for months now but i've disabled the front airbag instead of risking it. Its a forward facing seat and works just fine. Slightly worried about the fact that the door handles are so easily reached by small sticky hands!!! :)
