Sorry Seb, I was going to, but I still haven't managed to get my hands on any front badges. :( I'd still be happy to throw a few together if I can get some, got all the stuff here.

Must get back to doing a bit of work with the CF again actually. Did I get you the name of the place in Dublin where I got the CF fabric MJ? I know I meant to look it up for you, but I can't remember if I passed it on or not?
Would be handy for anyone else looking for the stuff.

You did Tom ya but I got the kevlar online anyway as twas handier for me. The place in England there in the link that I put up has sheets of cf for about 15pounds which is excellent value, one of the lads I used work with got it and the quality is pretty good too.

Its the right stuff miss-enzo ya but you can get a lot more than that for the same price off the link I posted earlier. You only get 1m x 250mm there, and the site I posted up sells 1m x 1m, you wont get much covered with 250mm if allowing for wastage and overcutting. But the 2mmx2mm twill weave is what you're after all right.

Its on the list bernard, just an inch short on cloth or it would have been done with the rest of the stuff, same as the cupholder in the centre console, though I might scrape enough for that yet.

UPDATE:

Its been a long day of trimming and tantrums, cutting and cursing! Finally got around last night to applying the final laquers on the pieces for the console. So today was fitting day! Been a long wait but now its done! There was a lot of adjusting and minor details to be made good. Its as good as I can get it now and I wasnt happy at the way it fitted at the start of the day but kept at it and only finished it now, and can say I'm pleased with it finally.
Naturally a couple of things tried to stop me, my gear stick wouldnt go back into park properly firstly, the button wouldnt pop back to the right height, got that sorted as it was a case of screwing down the white surround for the nut a bit more, simple enough. All the appliances and gauges fitted straight away, but trimming was needed to make the lower console fit proper against the upper console, and around the double din unit to make it flush to the edges. The rubber grommet then decided to give me grief, but I wasnt having any of it and made it fit with the help of a scalpel!

So I suppose, the pics;

Now I've still got the hood for the gauges over the steering wheel to complete but I'm happy I've got this far for today!

Thanks Tom, to be honest, I'm in 2 minds about it. Even though theres a lot gone into it, its not really giving me that 'Wow' effect if you know what I mean, it didnt come up as shiny as I hoped, and I dont know, theres something missing in it I think. I'm going to spray the panels I took out white and see if I prefer that, I know its not goin to be different then but I'd rather have somethin I like than something I'm not sure about.
Any way I can brighten them up do you know?

Ya, no I have the idea of what I want to do all right, cause I had that planned before the kevlar, its just that I changed my mind then to see what the kevlar would be like. It would be close to gfalls but obviously not as professional looking, and other bits thrown in too and some extra items done a small bit differently.

You should be able to get a brighter/gloss finish than that alright if thats what you're after. I assume you have applied the laquar? If you apply too little, you get a kind of hazzy/matt finish, is this what happened? Its a fine balance, too much laquar will run. Alternatively, you could try to polish it up, maybe a bit of rubbing compound and then a car polish?

Maybe I didnt use enough laquer so, I only put 2 coats on. I'll try tht, might bring it up a bit. I waxed it and used the extra gloss protection on it to try to give it a sheen ya but didnt bring it up.

You shouldnt need any laquer to get a good shine, I just worked my way up through the wet and dry grits to 2000 then give it a really good t-cut for a long long time, then a good qual resin polish and a wax to finish.

I used this resin as its UV stable to stops the carbon discolouring in the sun -

good goin, i would have thought you used more than that, so do ye reckon 2m would be enough for centre console, kick plates and inner door handles? lookin at ur how to has given me the kick in the hole to do something about my cracked dash, cheers!

2m³ is plenty. Though to be honest I wouldnt do the door handle surrounds, (if thats what you're referring to), theres not enough tolerance for the handle to close properly due to the build up of the resin. Look at the handle closely next time, it fits snugly into the surround, also the lock button in the surround would be dodgy to stay in the proper position too. I did mine just for the walk through, as it was the only piece I had left, but didnt fit it.
Kick plates would be nice in it, def suit the cf / kevlar look. You'd have more than enough for the centre console in 1m³, cause I included the hood for the speedo gauges in the m³ I used.

Unfortunately air vents are a problem too. I have them done, and they came out nice, but fitting them, as the lads pointed out is a pain of a job, as far as I can see, (and I havent figured this out for definite so could be wrong), they are fitted from the inside of the dash, so the dash would need to be taken out to put them in. I had planned to do the triangular vents too but the blades are attached to the vents so would be very hard to get right. Oh ya, try and do it on spare pieces, else theres a possibility you'll be driving around with no dash for a while, or if it doesnt turn out how you like you can swop in the old pieces again.

This is the case unfortunately.

So the vents, while looking well, are actually way too much trouble for what they're worth. How do fellas spray them so tidily, do they take them out or do they mask them in-situ?
