I'm pretty sure my front driver's side caliper is after sticking. The other day when I was on the motorway I noticed a rumble coming into the steering wheel and pedals, which disappeared the next time I drove the car. Roll on today and the car seemed a bit sluggish. It had less pull on acceleration and seemed to slow down far too quickly when I took my foot off.
I got out in a car park to have a look and sure enough there was a little wisp of smoke coming from the brake pad and the ticking sound you get when everything's far too hot. Now that I'm pretty sure I've found the problem, does anyone know how I go about fixing it? I can't really drive with it like that.
Also while I'm at it my rev counter stopped working last week. All the other dials are fine. I took it out to have a look because I thought maybe the needle cup had come loose and was sticking against the background or something. It doesn't seem to be the motor because the needle will always return to 0 even if it has to defy gravity to do so, so I'm at a loss. Any ideas?
As usual, thanks a mill for any advice!!
