Courtesy light wiring

Postby marty » Fri Feb 18, 2011 3:34 pm

I wanted to fit neons into the footwells to come when the interior courtesy light comes on (I.e. Doors open). Instead of wiring this to a constant live and earthed to the door switch which I know a few ppl on here have done before, I thought it might be simpler to just run a wire from the live and earth from the courtesy light wiring behind the pillar next to the windscreen. On removing this plastic pillar cover I've discovered I think seven wires making it all a bit more complicated! Just wondering can anyone tell me which colour is the courtesy light live and earth?? Thanks.

Removing the rear view mirror will show you easily, I think there's 4 separate bulbs in there, 2 courtesy and 2 map lights.
